Balaton Wine Tours

The Balaton Wine Region is not only one of the most beautiful of Hungary‘s seven wine regions, but also one of the most important as well. Its wine regions are lined up around Central Europe's largest lake, the Balaton. The varied topography and the surface size of the water significantly affects the region's climate and creates a favorable microclimate for winemaking. The extraordinary diversity of soil greatly affects the variety of the wines; basalt, limestone, marl, dolomite and red sandstone can also be found here. White grape varieties dominate in this wine region, and although the most common is the Welschriesling, one can also taste excellent red wines. Besides the great wines, plenty of natural and cultural value also awaits visitors.

The tours I have compiled are focused on the regional wine culture as well as providing an opportunity to learn about the life of the Lake Balaton. Through a representative selection of quality wines, you can get acquainted with the winemakers of three wine regions (Upper Balaton, Badacsony and Balatonfüred-Csopak Wine Region), while the richness of the natural and cultural assets gives an unforgettable experience during the trips.
